At this educational dinner, we will discuss sedation in dogs. The foundation will be set by reviewing the basic physiology behind commonly used sedatives in dogs. We will discuss the most commonly used sedatives and reversal and be introduced to a new sedative and analgesic combination medication.
Doors open and social begins at 6:30 pm
Dinner will be served at 7 pm
Presentation to begin at 7:15 pm
Attendance is FREE to 2023 SCVVMA members (couurtesy of Dechra). If you are not a SCVVMA member, you will receive an email invoice for $65 per attendee to cover dinner and CE costs within 72 hours of registering to hold your seat.
About the speaker:
Dr. Julie Kluxdal is a 1998 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent eight years in clinical practice. Her practice experience includes canine, feline, emergency, exotic pet and wildlife medicine. Her career transitioned to the animal health industry when she accepted a position as a Field Technical Services Veterinarian in 2006 and most recently joined Dechra Veterinary Products as a Professional Services Veterinarian in November 2019. Outside of work Julie enjoys spending time outdoors with her family hiking and biking at home in California. When they can, they enjoy visiting other parts of the United States and the world. Her family includes her husband, son, a house full of cats and one snake.
Dr. Munir Kareshi
Dr. Kureshi graduated from Bombay Veterinary College in 1987. He served internships at Animal Medical Center, New York City’s largest animal care facility, and at the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Veterinary Medicine. He has also held several externships, which include the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and clinics in Chicago, Illinois and Boulder, Colorado. After moving to the Bay Area, Dr. Kureshi worked at several animal hospitals and an avian clinic in Los Gatos before acquiring Cupertino Animal Hospital in 1994.
